John has been teaching in Grandville Public Schools since 1995.  Prior to coming to Grandville, he taught for four years in Monroe County in southeast Michigan.  Since coming to Grandville he has taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grades as well as Science Lab. During his tenure in Grandville he has coached Odyssey of the mind, Lego Robotics, and has been safety patrol supervisor at South Elementary for many years.  He is active on Grandville's Science committee as well as South Elementary's school improvement team.

John received his Bachelors of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University and his Masters of Elementary Education degree from Grand Valley State University.
